Carol Lende-Svec was influenced early in childhood by the violin-maker shop near her house. Trips to the shop instigated her passion for musical instruments as a means of artistic expression through their form, texture, and relationship with nature. Carol has been able to transform disregarded musical parts along with materials from nature to produce beautiful pieces of jewelry as well as organic sculptures. Her work has been recognized for its ingenuity by winning numerous awards in the West Michigan area. She still repairs and teaches the violin and viola.
