Mireille Boussoutroux Ripley was born and raised in the South of France. Her paintings are inspired by memories of her childhood there. Many of her figures reflect the comfort of her mother’s femininity. Mireille attended a girl’s finishing school in Provence and studied art, graduating with a Certificate of Excellence for her achievement. She later married an American and moved to the United States. Mireille has a rich imagination. Although she now lives in Michigan, most of her landscape paintings are rendered with the bright sun and vivid colors of Southern France. Through her extensive travels in the United States, Canada, and Europe, she has collected a wide variety of subject matter for her work.
